There's a way to fix it on Windows 10 but not on Linux that I could find, so if you have a friend you can borrow their computer for a bit, run the troubleshooter on there and fix the files, then it should mount no problem. They're great HDD's, I'm just new to LInux and couldn't figure out the damn thing.Įdit: Sorry forgot to add - mine wouldn't mount because the file system had gotten corrupted probably from some dumbfuck thing that I did. For that, I ended up plugging it into a friend's computer that does run Windows 10 so I could see what I was doing better, figured out my password that way (cos like in Linux you can't see what you've entered so I wasn't sure if I was typing it in wrong or what) and then I got rid of the password entirely and used it in Linux. For the password problem, that was more due to the fact that I had forgotten my password.

I posted the link in the OG post for the way I figured out how to mount it and make it work and all that. The above tutorial is still helpful in figuring out how to get Linux to work with it properly in the first place. I ended up running the troubleshooter on a friend's computer through Windows10, which fixed the file system, and then it mounted in Linux no problem. Filesystem is NTFS, which I thought would work with Linux.Įdit 2: It couldn't mount because the file system got corrupted somehow probably didn't unplug it properly or smth.
